Cryotherapy is an ultra cold treatment designed to shock the body into action by revving up blood circulation and boosting the immune and central nervous systems.

Whole body Cryotherapy affects the body on three different levels:

  • The Biochemical level – the circulatory system;

  • The Energy level – the energy meridians;

  • The Information level – the nervous system.

As you enter the Cryocabin the sudden drop in heat stimulates the temperature receptors, prompting the brain to transmit messages throughout the body. This withdraws blood from the body’s core to try to regulate the temperature.

When you exit the cabin, blood is pumped vigorously around the body which, in turn, enhances the oxygen supply and removal of toxins.

The cold also triggers the nervous system to release feel-good endorphins, and the body’s natural anti-inflammatory reaction to extreme cold results in a pain reduction.

After an initial consultation, one of eight programmes will be selected with the client to achieve maximum effects and results based on the purpose for treatments.

The treatment can be set to provide treatment to a specific part of the body, i.e legs, back or shoulders for specific injuries, or to the whole body.

It all depends on the client; whether it’s for prevention, wellbeing or health conditions.

We always recommend starting with 5-10 sessions to see the most benefits.

It varies. Some people can feel the difference immediately, while it can take 2 or even 3 sessions for others.

You will never be able to see results, only feel them.

Treatments last between 1-4 minutes. This can be a combination of heat and cold or purely cold Whole Body Cryotherapy, dependent upon which equipment you have chosen for your venue.

Cryosense 1-4 minutes. This consists of 8 programmes to choose from, and a combination of heat and/or cold treatment.

Yes! The air is very dry, which is why some people don’t even shiver! Also, only your face is visible to the operator during the procedure, so your privacy is kept at all times.

During each session the body releases endorphins, which are feel-good hormones. You should also feel energized. The effects of each session last at least 6 – 8 hours, but like any therapy, the more sessions, the greater the results. Regular use of the Cryosauna can extend benefits for greater lengths of time.

A higher pain tolerance is also achieved, with decreased inflammation throughout the body. That’s why athletes, and people suffering from pain in general, are able to find such quick relief. You will also burn 500 calories or more per session, due to the body’s increase in metabolic rate which will last for a few hours. The Cryosauna, used on a regular basis, can help the body reset its metabolism.

No. This treatment simply does not compare to an ice bath. It’s not possible to achieve the same effects with an ice bath, plus ice baths are anywhere from 12-15 minutes longer. (compared to under 3 minutes in a Cryosauna) The Cryosauna gives you a quicker and better recovery and enhanced performance. During an ice bath, you feel a penetrating cold, which can be damaging to the skin. In the Cryosauna, cold works on skin receptors, responding on a much deeper level, stimulating the body’s reboot.

There is no freezing involved, only the feeling of being cold. This process is simply cold air flowing over the surface of the skin which, in turn, creates the beneficial results. The air is completely dry, making it surprisingly comfortable.

Yes. Although the Cryosauna produces completely natural effects, it’s only designed for an adult-sized body. It cannot hurt children, yet they are simply too short for the Cryosaunas.

Whole-body cryotherapy is very well tolerated and has minimal risks: Fluctuations in blood pressure during the procedure by up to 10 points systolically (this effect reverses after the end of the procedure, as peripheral circulation returns to normal), in rare cases people can suffer an allergic reaction to extreme cold, and activation of some viral conditions (cold sores) etc. due to stimulation of the immune system.
